This year for our five-year anniversary Shawn and I decided to go on a cruise to celebrate. We wanted to go somewhere that neither of us had ever been before and after much searching by Shawn we decided that a Panama Canal Cruise was just the place for us. :) We left on April 18th to head down to Ft. Lauderdale Florida where our cruise was set to leave on April 19th. It was a good thing we went a day early because the weather was so bad in Florida it took us awhile to actually make it there! We woke up that morning to FOG! Seriously-FOG?! We were a little concerned on the way to the airport but our good friend John who was taking us reassured us it would be fine when we got there, and he was right! Surprisingly it wasn't very foggy out at DIA. We left on time and landed in Atlanta early. As we were sitting in the terminal waiting for our connecting flight we suddenly realized that the screen said that the flight was returning to Denver- not going on to Ft. Lauderdale so we asked the agent there and they had changed the gate on us. Of course we were in terminal B at the time and had to go to terminal T. Any of you familiar with Atlanta Airport can sympathize with how HUGE and BUSY it is! So we rushed to make it to terminal T just in time to start boarding-WHEW! We left Atlanta a little bit late which didn't really matter much in the end because the weather was so bad in Florida we had to circle around for an hour before finally being cleared to land-Apparently we were arriving in the middle of a monsoon! The turbulence was pretty bad and I was really glad when we finally landed! By the time we made it to our hotel the rain had let up a bit so we took off on foot to find somewhere to eat dinner. Of course, while we were eating the rain started up again and we were a little soggy by the time we got back. But SO WHAT, we were ON VACATION! Woot, woot! :)
