Neighborhood Thugs
So Shawn and I had an exciting night last night. Now, before you let your mind wander to the gutter, we were innocently driving through the neighborhood checking on our friends house because they are out of town. The house on the corner from them is vacant at the moment but as we drove by we noticed a bike in the drive and a kid on the porch. He was watching us very suspiciously until we turned the corner. We flipped a U to check it out and when we got back to the house he was gone. The bike was still in the drive and the door was cracked open. Knowing that the house SHOULD be empty we called the po-po to let them know. While Shawn was on the phone with 911 he got out of the car to walk around and see if he could see in the house. The kid came out of the house and was going to get on his bike to get away but I opened the car door to let him know I wasn't going to let him pass quietly and Shawn came back around the corner in his super cop mode. :) He was able to detain the little thug and found out his name (Levi), age (14) and where he lives (subdivision across the street). The kid appeared to have been huffing or snorting drugs inside the house. It seemed like it took the po-po forever to arrive but when they finally got there the first words out of their mouths were "Levi- what are are you up to now?" Hmmm, he really is the neighborhood thug, the po-po are on a first name basis with the brat! Anyhoo, they searched and cuffed the kid, took our info and we left. Later an office stopped by (the nicest one I have met in this town by far!) and took our statements. He said the little thug(s) have a whole set up going on in the vacant house with snacks and all sorts of stuff. Apparently this kid has quite the rep around town and is on permanent "tresspass" in this neighborhood- which means he should not even be on our streets. MAN! He's probably the thug who tagged Shawn's patrol car last year, in fact, I'm sure of it...

Bet he revisits Shawn's car if he puts two and two together. Good thing you guys were on your toes. Kid never had a chance.
