Discussions

So we have now completed two discussions with the missionaries for Ashlie with her mother Trudy. So far so good! The first one was a little tense at first. I think Trudy was worried the missionaries would try to "teach" her but they were great and focused mostly on Ashlie. They did ask Shawn and I some questions and Ashlie of course but they were very non-threatening towards Trudy and by the end of the first discussion she had relaxed quite a bit. She has let them give her the pamphlets and seems to have a pretty good attitude about it. We asked Ash what her mom said about the discussion and she that "it was good". That's more than I ever expected! Granted we don't have any illusions that she will be converted but we do keep her in our prayers and hope that she will have a change of heart. At the very least she will learn what it is we really believe instead of what her baptist friends tell her we believe! We are so grateful that Ashlie is finally going to be able to be baptized! The date is set for April 17th- that is her 12th birthday and she is so excited! So, if you are in the area or you want to be in the area then we would love to have you come! :)
