Survived - DNC

Well, we all survived the first week of school. Every day when Roxy walked in the door I anxiously asked how her day had been and every day she said it was great! What a relief! We made it through at least one week without any bad things so she had a great start and I am so thankful! Ashlie and Tyler are very happy with their teachers and their classes. Baylie isn't so sure about hers. Baylie is very chatty and she is finding that is not accepted now that she is in the first grade. I think she will get it worked out though and will be happy. She has a great teacher (it's the same one Tyler had in 1st grade) so it should be a good learning year for her. YAY!

So today was the first day of the DNC- ugh! Shawn had to be downtown to pick up the senator he's escorting at 8:30 this morning and they have been going all day. He says he is a very nice man which is good. :) He called and told me that the protesters are already causing major problems. There was supposed to be a "welcome luncheon" at the Pepsi Center and they had to cancel it because someone infiltrated security and tainted the food. Seriously, do they really think they are going to be heard with this behavior? It only makes people despise them. Apparently they will also be going to the RNC next week. What exactly is the point they are trying to make??? Anyhoo, it's going to be a long week with Shawn gone but we will survive. :)
